Sunset in B&W
I was recently reading an article about printing sunsets in black & white so I thought I would try one. It definitely shifts the emphasis from a candy red sunset to the texture of the clouds and the angles of the roof edges. It’s different, but I might be trying a little too hard to find something different.
I changed my mind about keeping the Pentax K-01. I’m sending it back. After thinking some more about how or when I would use it, I decided that I would probably use it very little. It came down to two things. First, it is only small enough when the 40mm XS lens is on it; but, that isn’t a good focal length for me to use as a walk-about lens. Second, it doesn’t have a viewfinder and the LCD wasn’t going to work well enough for me in bright sunlight.

It is very interesting in black and white, I seem to see so much more in the clouds, and the roof tops are fasinating, it is almost looks as if you cut a border, even though we know it is the angles of the roof.

That K-01 is such a good value, especially as a second body for someone in the Pentax system. What about something like this for the viewfinder when you need it?

Or does that it make too much of a Frankenstein camera?

That would help but it is too large. I was looking for a smaller system.
