Hmm, lovely photo. Currently I’m working on a camera support system that uses the head rest as a tripod. Maybe you should try something similar to get smooth in car photos?

I have been thinking about it; but have found that I need to shift from through the windshield to through various other windows quickly. That need, along with the difficulty of shooting with various car vibrations, movement, etc. keeps driving me towards higher shutter speeds and finding that it is often easier to shoot hand-held. As you can see, it isn’t as easy at night. You might want to read what Todd Hido found, as mentioned in his book on Landscapes, Interiors, and the Nude.
