This past weekend we were in Morgantown WV to attend our granddaughter’s graduation at West Virginia University. Sammi got her BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology and graduated Summa Cum Laude with University Honors, and did it in three years!
It was cold and rained most of the weekend and was too dark and far away in the coliseum for me to get good pictures, but below are a few pictures of the graduation and the family celebration. This fall she will attend Gallaudet University to pursue her Masters, and is already talking about going for her Doctorate.

The commencement ceremony was recorded live by the University and can be watched by clicking here. The video takes a little over one hour and 29 minutes, but Samantha’s name isn’t announced until point 1:18:05, but she doesn’t walk until 1:18:19 (in honor’s gold).
At the end the graduates and the audience sang “Country Roads” (1:25:14) and it brought tears to my eyes as I thought of my graduation in 1964 and now my oldest granddaughter’s graduation in 2016 at the same University.
