One of my potential issues with the Leica D-Lux 6 is that it only has a small sensor with an effective 10MP. So far it hasn’t been a problem, but I wanted to see how well I could crop-zoom and then increase the size of the image, so I used these to try it. I think it does a pretty good job, at least well enough for what I want to use it for.
The camera has a 12MP sensor, but it also has the feature where you preselect the aspect ratio as 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, or 16:9 and the effective size stays around 10MP independent of the aspect ratio. So far, I have been using the 3:2 aspect ratio. I haven’t tried the others, I have just been cropping when desired, like these cropped to 1:1 ratio from the 3:2 original.
