Another snapping turtle came out of the pond to lay her eggs.  Note those claws.  I love the opportunity to see these turtles once a year in the spring.  I try to keep my eyes open to catch the young going to the water but that isn’t easy even when I know where the nest is and when the eggs were laid since the eggs take 80 to 90 days to hatch but can vary considerably due to temperatures and other environmental conditions.
