Rainy Afternoon
It was a dark and dreary rainy afternoon and I wanted to make some images that reflected my mood, i.e. that were allegorical in nature. It didn’t help that I wasn’t feeling great and that could have influenced my photography, but does it matter? It might have also been influenced by Daido Moriyama who I had been watching. It is also no secret that I like photography that isn’t a “straight picture”, i.e. a snapshot that captures realism. I’m always searching for a purpose in what and how I photograph things. You might want to read this article by amolitor since it might help you understand what I like to do even though I often don’t succeed.
Since it was raining outside, I thought it only appropriate to use my weather resistant Pentax camera and lens to make these images, even though I stayed inside where it was dry. I also wanted to make sure it was ready incase we had anymore weather damage that I wanted to photograph.
Fascinating, broody, moody and utterly gorgeous.
