Pentax when Possible

I’m in the process of switching to using the K-1 II and the 28-105mm lens as much as possible.  There are many reasons: the first being my X-T2 being out of commission, the second is that I really like the image quality for cropping, etc., third, I like having the image stabilization in the camera. and forth, I want to give the K-1 II a good chance at becoming my primary camera system.

So far, I’m finding that I really like it, other than the weight and the noise of the shutter/mirror.  On this, I find the shutter sound to be pleasant, it is just that the residents close by me don’t want to hear it interrupting their listening at events.  I like the malleability of the raw files in LR and I like the 36MP for enhanced cropping and I like the low light capabilities.

My main concerns at the moment are the effects of the weight on my hands and back, and the attraction of full frame with more megapixels.  Is the camera going to spoil me?  Will I ever want to go back to smaller sensors?  I did take a look at some more modern lighter, smaller, FF mirrorless cameras.  The cheapest of them with a comparable lens would cost me twice what I paid for the used Pentax camera and lens that I’m using.

PS, my eyes have been bothering me a lot lately.  I have appointment with the eye doctor today, but I might be spending less time with my photography for a while.
